Knit Your Hat

 

February 2, 9 & 23 6:30pm -8:30pm

           Instructor: Anna Fasoldt

            Cost: $50

                  plus $20 -$28 material fee for yarn due on first day of class 

                                amount depending on yarn chosen

                                for (3)  sessions

Bring: size 7 16" circular knitting needles and size 7 double point needles

 

Need to know knitting basics for this workshop

In this workshop you will learn to use circular needles and double pointed to knit a hat using wool yarn.

                

First class you will learn about importance of knitting gauge and project planning

Second class you will begin to knit your hat

Third class you will finish your hat

Movie Night Socks

To Be Arranged - contact studio if interested

Cost: $85 (includes material fee for merino wool/ alpaca yarn

                         and pattern by Sarah Bronske

 

       

            Materials: (4) Double point needles size 10 1/2

                            tape measure

                            stitch markers and cable needle

 

Basic knitting skills required.

Beaded Stitch Markers

You can make both types of stitch markers

Materials

 $5.00 for a set of 8 simple stitch markers - rings with the single bead 

$10.00 for a set of the dangly ones -firewire and multiple beads

All other materials and tools provided

       Materials :180 yards of worsted weight yarn

                        16 in. US Size 7/4.5mm circular needle

                         Set of US Size 7/4.5mm dpn

                           (If you are a tight knitter, substitute US Size 8/5mm needles.)                             Two stitch markers Yarn needle

 

Must have beginning knitting experience

                

You will learn some advanced knitting techniques when knitting this very warm hat.

Sock Knitting - Magic Loop

 

           Instructor: Carin Randall

            Cost: $65 

                    for (4) 1.5 hour sessions

         Tuesdays September 19 & 26, October 3 & 10 

                             6:00 - 7:30 pm

       Learn to knit socks using the Magic Loop Method         

Dive into the world of sock knitting! Over 4 sessions you will learn to make cuff down socks. Create cuff, Heel flap, heel turning using short rows, picking up stitches for making a gusset and the Kitchener stitch to close the toe. You will learn by making one sock and make the second on your own with what you've learned. The class includes sock pattern

Supplies to bring:

- 100 grams Fingering weight sock yarn (should include nylon or acrylic or silk for strength)

- Circular knitting needles US size 1 (2.25mm) with 32" cable length

- Darning needle

- Stitch markers

Experience Level: Advanced beginner. must know how to cast on, and basic knit and purl stitches.

Headband/Cowl - Knitting

 

           Instructor: Carin Randall

            Cost: $65 

                    for (3) 1.5 hour sessions

         Tuesdays November 14, 21 & 28

                             6:00 - 7:30 pm

So you’ve taken a beginner class and you’ve learned how to knit and purl stitches. Now what?!

 

This class is the perfect stepping stone! Join us in making your choice of headband or cowl. This class offers a simple pattern using a knit and purl stitch to complete the softest headband/cowl around perfect for the upcoming fall weather! You will learn how to cast on a provisional stitch, join in the round, and complete a seamless Kitchener stitch.

Material list will be supplied upon registration

 

If you have not taken a beginner class or need a refresher, no worries! Schedule a beginner/refresher class with Carin in preparation for this class!

Experience Level: Advanced beginner. must know how to cast on, and basic knit and purl stitches.

Granny Square Crochet

            Cost: $40 

           Materials: bring crochet hook size K

                            worsted weight yarn in several colors

 

Experience Level: must know the basics of crochet

                

You will learn to make a granny square that can be used for many items

Beginning Crochet

            Cost: $40  for (2) 1 hour sessions

            Please bring crochet hook size K to class and 2 - 3 oz. of cotton

                    worsted weight yarn. Available for purchase at studio for $5

In this beginning crochet class you will learn  crochet basics. We will work on these beginning skills by making a simple cotton wash cloth.
