Spin Your Yarn - Introduction

           Cost: $50  + $25 Material Fee paid on day of workshop

              (material fee includes various types of wool fiber and

                            a colorfully dyed wool braid to spin with)

 

Beginners encouraged and welcome

 

This 4 hour introduction workshop will introduce you to the art of twisting wool fiber into yarn.

                

Learn the relaxation of spinning your own yarn using a spinning wheel. We will explore the process of spinning wool into yarn beginning in slow motion with simple tools working up to using a spinning wheel. You will learn about fiber preparation. Your first yarn will likely be lumpy and bumpy and curly and beautiful. Spinning wheels and fiber will be provided in workshop.

If you have your own working spinning wheel, please talk to instructor prior to first day of workhsop.

Material fee includes use of spinning wheel at the studio on day of workshop
