Knit and Felt Your Hat
KFH1 Sunday January 28 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - knitting

Cost: $50 plus materials
Some knitting experience required.
If you are new to knitting, sign up for the Beginning knitting class
This workshop begins with knitting a very oversized hat with wool yarn followed by a felting session where the large knitted blob is transformed into a beautiful hat. At the first meeting you will get the knitting pattern and begin knitting with the yarn specified in the materials list. Two weeks later you will bring your finished knitted hat blob to the workshop to complete the process through felting. You are welcome to come to the regular Lost Art Open studio on Friday Oct 20th to get any help or questions answered about the knitting process.
January 7 Knitting Materials:
-Size 11 24"circular knitting needles
-Size 11 double pointed needles
-310 yards 14 ply wool yarn- Brown Sheep Wool or New Zealand Wool Pak
New Zealand Wool Pak can be purchased through Paradise Fibers.
or purchased from instructor ($25/310 yd skein).
You can choose to purchase white yarn and dye the yarn before knitting
or dye the completed felted hat in a Paint Your Yarn Dye class
if you choose to use another wool yarn, check with instructor to be sure it
will work for this process.
-If desired, you can add a non-wool novelty yarn to knit as an accent for your hat.
Some yarns will be available the first night, or if you have some of your own

Felted Pumpkins

Cost: $50 includes materials to make 2 pumpkins
Beginners encouraged and welcome
Kathi will show you how to make these comical and possibly scary pumpkins by using the technique of needle felting. Needle felting tools and additional wool will be available for use and purchase if you choose.
Felted Santas
